In light of continual cost increases to domestically packed and value added fresh produce, the need to source more competitively priced packing and 3PL services has risen dramatically.
VegPack’s newly constructed facility near the border in Ensenada, Mexico, now offers the ability to produce and co-pack almost any of Mexico’s fresh produce and value added items.
Many of Mexico’s finest fresh fruits and vegetables can be routed to our facility daily, co-packed, and still arrive for pick-up in San Diego or Los Angeles the following day.
Our Story
CDS Group Founder, Dan Nagel, is no stranger to the industry. Getting his start in the family business of farming, he assisted his father with various tasks required to successfully grow, pack, and ship fresh produce.
The family business looked to opportunities away from their Minnesota origin, traveling across the Mexican and Central America regions, expanding their operations across borders. Dan lived in Guatemala for two years, starting a program to export Asian vegetables to U.S. markets.
Looking to further expand his operations, Dan relocated to Los Angeles, California to build a wholesale produce business. As the fresh produce industry continued to evolve into a global marketplace, Dan's business expanded into a wide range of different products and services to offer his clients.
